PRICE BREAKDOWN:
Event Fees, the cost for Treks and Vacations explained:
Events:
Tuesday Urban Treks - $10/person
Wednesday Eastside Adventures - $10/person
Thursday Hiking/Snowshoeing - $15/person
Sunday Hiking/Snowshoeing - $15/person
Occasionally there are events, such as our social events, or ones that require secondary costs to participate, such as life tickets for downhill skiing where there is no event fee.
Annual Members never pay any event fees for the year that they have an active membership.
Treks:
Our treks are typically 3-Days / 2-Nights although some may be 2 Days and some may be 5 days.
Guide Fee - Always $30 per day, per person
Lodging - This expense can vary greatly based on the trek, the write-up in the event description will explain your options. Options for lodging can range from campsites to RV sites, hotel rooms, cabins, or resorts. Attendees may also have the option of a roommate, again depending on the type of trek.
Transportation - This expense can vary greatly but usually involves driving either as an individual or as a carpool. If part of rideshare, the cost of the transportation is split among the riders. Transportation may also include airfare or ferry rides. Each event will describe the transportation needed and/or provided for the trek.
Food - This is typically the last of the variable costs involved with treks. Each event description will explain the attendees' need for a trail lunch, a restaurant lunch option, breakfast options, and of course dinner options.
All treks are designed to allow the participants to experience the event in a manner that best suits their desired experience and budget. Each Trek will list a typical, expected, and estimated cost per person.
Vacations:
Our vacations to National Parks range between 7 to 10 days while our International trips are typically 2 to 3 weeks.
Guide Fee - Always $30 per day, per person
Lodging - Our vacations will often include lodging within the cost of the trip. In the case where there are more than 12 participants the event description will provide lodging options for the participants and therefore this expense will not be included in the overall cost.
Transportation - Often airfare is needed to participate in our vacations and while we are happy to arrange your airfare we have found that many have preferred airlines and/or useable Airmiles that they can use to acquire tickets. We will always provide information regarding the itinerary so that each participant can acquire the appropriate flight. Occasionally, our vacations also, or only, require ground transportation and optional excursions. In this case, the ground transportation is described in the event description and the cost is split among the participants.
Tickets for additional Excursions - Many times these are included in the overall cost, if applicable. Occasionally there are so many options available for additional experiences that we simply provide the information and resources necessary for the participant to make an informed decision.
Food - This is always a great variable based on personal preference, dietary needs, and budget. We will always strive to provide as many options as possible including more budget-friendly ones.
Souvenirs and Gifts - These are always discretionary to the participant.
All vacations are designed to allow the participants to experience the event in a manner that best suits their desired experience and budget. Each vacation will list a typical, expected, and estimated cost per person.
Welcome to Tenderfoot Adventures (55+), an outdoor excursions organization with a full-time guide and event planner and several engaged members who assist in planning and guiding our treks and travels. My name is Weston Williams and I have been guiding this organization for the past 8 of its 20 years.
Our organization is comprised mostly of retired people, both singles and couples, who love to keep fit physically, socially, and mentally. We happily accept active people of all ages. We hike, walk, snowshoe, cycle, kayak, ski, travel and support the arts through all kinds of fantastic destinations.
So many adventures, so little time. We hope that you enjoy your Tenderfoot experience and as I always say, "I work for you, the member. You tell me what you'd like to go do, see and experience and we'll do our best to make it happen."
Have a fantastic day.
