Field Journal Challenge
The Tenderfoot Field Journal Challenge invites members to deepen their connection to the places they explore through reflection, creativity, and shared storytelling. Whether through written entries, photos, sketches, or quiet observations, the Field Journal transforms each outing into a personal record of growth and discovery. It’s a way to slow down, notice more, and contribute to a living archive shaped by the collective experiences of our community.
Ode to Tenderfoots
We waken at dawn though we may be retired,
We’re achy and shaky and surely we’re tired.
But we’re going hiking with Weston today!
Tenderfooters all the way!
We hike through the forests and meadows and streams,
If we are lucky, we catch some sun beams,
Up to the snow fields and glaciers – there’s more!
Time to take Advil cause we’re getting sore!
We hike to the peak top and get a grand view!
By now, you will know me, and I will know you.
Uh Oh, it’s time to hike down, down, and down,
With hopes that there’s ice cream when we get to town!
We’re so glad that we hiked with Weston today,
He is a marvel, all members say,
We’re Tenderfooters all the way!
